Welcome to Bébé Bee Couture

My name is Rachel and I am the owner and knitter behind Bébé Bee Couture.

I learnt to knit as a child, my Nana taught me. But through the years it was a skill i lost. So when i found myself living in Québec (I am originally from New Zealand) i found myself in need of a hobby to get through the long winters i was not used to. And all those pretty balls of yarn were calling to me, so with a little help from some books to jog my memory i relearned how to knit. Then as my kids came a long i was knitting more and more and loved the reward of turning yarn into something pretty by waving my magic wands (needles).

When i decided to open my shop here on ETSY back in 2008, I needed a name, and although my shop has evolved beyond just baby items over the years, i have decided to stick with the name out of sentimentality :) You see, Bébé Bee was the nick name of our eldest son, and like our family it was bilingual (my husband is french and i am english). Our son is now 14, and 6 foot tall, he lost the *Bébé* part of his nickname many years ago, but we still call him Bee...just not in front of his friends ;-)

And Yes, my last name (married name) is Couture, that was too perfect not to include :)

I love what i do, i love to make and create, and i appreciate each and every one of you who look, like and purchase from my little business :)
